Ingredients: 2 lbs Chicken Wings (Drums and Flaps) 2 ½ tsp Baking Powder 4 tbsp Rub a Dub, 5280 Culinary 2 tbsp Honey Hog, Meat Church
Prepare Your Grill Before Cooking
Gather all your tools for grilling, such as tongs, a cooking thermometer, plates, and pellet fuel.
Next, clean the grill with a raw onion and change the drip tray liner (if needed).
Once your grill is clean, fill the pellet hopper with Traeger’s Reserve Blend Pellets and set your Traeger grill to 375˚ F.
Prep the Chicken Wings
Before starting, make sure your area is clean. Only place raw chicken in a bowl, not on a table, to ensure your cooking area is free of bacteria. It is also important to wear food-safe gloves when dealing with raw meat.
- Remove the chicken wings from the fridge and pat them dry with a paper towel. If wings are frozen, a quick way to defrost is by submerging them in a bowl of cold water and replacing the water every 30 minutes.
- Once the wings are dry, rest them on a flat sheet for 2-3 minutes.
Begin Grilling Your Wings
- Place them on the grill grate and cook for 25-30 minutes.
- At the 25-minute mark, check on your wings and flip to the uncooked side.
- Then, check the wings with a cooking thermometer. The temperature should be around 165˚ F – 170˚ F. If the temperature is below, keep cooking the wings on the grill.
Prep for Plating
- Once the wings are fully cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest on a cooking sheet in a single layer.
- During this time, you can prep side dishes to go with wings, such as carrots and celery paired with ranch or your favorite dipping sauce!
- Now, the wings are ready to plate and devour! Enjoy!
